Dear soon to be non-smoker,
Nowadays no one needs to tell you about the serious health effects of smoking. We all know how bad it is to smoke.
It’s old news that a single cigarette contains 1000’s of toxic poisons of which many have been confirmed to cause cancers, strokes and heart attacks. That smoking is the largest cause of preventable illness, disease and death and a smoker’s life expectancy is reduced by 14 years on average.
But who wants to dwell on that! It’s not very uplifting that’s for sure.
What IS very exciting is the opportunity all smokers have to quit smoking right now and experience the huge positive & immediate benefits that this has on your health, wealth and happiness!
Imagine living a life free of smoking …
Free of coughs, sore throats and illness caused by smoking
Free of bad breath and that acrid taste in your mouth
Free of body odour, clothes and hair that smell like cigarette smoke
Free of yellow stained fingers and teeth
Free of feeling unhealthy and unfit with low physical stamina and being out of breath easily
And these are just some of the health related benefits of quitting smoking. Your state of mind is also just as important.
Imagine quitting smoking and being free from …
- Worrying about the damage to you health with each cigarette you smoke
- Having smoking on your mind all the time - always having to be concerned about your next cigarette, where you’ll smoke and running out of cigarettes
- The disruption and time involved in taking smoking breaks
- Knowing that smoking effects your level of intimacy with your partner due to bad breath and the smell of smoking
- A lower self esteem from being controlled by this unwanted habit
- Worrying about passive smoking by children and your influence on them to smoke
- Feeling like an outcast in a society that is now putting bans on smoking including some in society that look down on smokers
Not to mention being free from a habit that drains your bank account of money that could be used in so many other ways to enhance your life. The average 1 pack a day smoker spends around $4,000 a year on smoking. How many years have you smoked for? That’s a lot of money!
Imagine being free from all of this! This is what non-smokers enjoy everyday. A life of greater health, wealth and happiness.
A life of …
- Greater fitness, energy and stamina – more achievement and play in life
- Greater self esteem knowing you have done something truly significant for yourself
- Feeling more positive and alive
- Looking better and younger with healthier skin
- Having a richer experience of food with your improved sense of taste and smell
- Being more attractive to others and your partner (or potential partners)
- Improved physical health of your whole body including your brain – better memory, decision making, mood and happier attitude.
- Breathing clean, fresh air more fully and freely
- Better quality of sleep
- Being a positive example to children
- And a much larger bank account! – and all the wonderful things you can do with all that extra money: pay off debts and reward yourself with some luxury items.
So the big question is ... how are you going to quit smoking?
If you are like the typical smoker you have likely tried various methods before which haven’t worked. Research on the main methods used to quit smoking show success rates that may help you feel better about your past attempts.
Success rates of various quit smoking methods:
- Will Power: 3 - 6 %
- Nicotine Replacement Therapy (patches, gums): 10 - 15 %
- Prescription drugs (eg. Zyban, Champix): 15 - 20%
Not only are the success rates so low for the main ways people try to quit smoking but there are also serious risks associated with these as well.
Nicotine replacement treatments can have unpleasant side effects as well as the risk of nicotine overdose when people start smoking again when the patches don’t work.
Prescription drugs (such as Zyban and Champix) have had serious warnings issued against them advising of possible side effects such as rage, depression and even suicidal thoughts.

CNNHealth.com <July 1, 2009> -- “Two popular anti-smoking drugs will now carry warnings about the risk of severe mental health problems, the Food and Drug Administration announced Wednesday.
The FDA said Champix and Zyban will carry the warnings to alert consumers to the risks of depression and suicidal thoughts when using the drugs.
"The drugs also have been reported to cause changes in behaviour, hostility and agitation in users, whether users had a history of psychiatric illness or not. In many cases, side effects started shortly after use began and ended when the medication was stopped. The FDA does not know what is causing the changes and said people taking these products should be monitored by their doctor”
So the question that needs to be asked is … why do these methods have such a low success rate?
And the answer to that question is because these methods do not target the real cause of why people smoke.
The real cause of why people smoke is the mental habit.
None of the main quit smoking methods focus on this real cause of smoking. That’s why they don’t work.
Have you noticed that you smoke in basically the same situations every day? Common ones are:
- First thing in the morning
- After a meal
- With a coffee
- On the phone
- While driving
- At certain times at work
- In stressful situations
- With certain other people
- While drinking alcohol
When you do something repeatedly it forms a habit. That’s what habits are.
The average smoker smokes around 20 cigarettes a day. Each cigarette involves around 10 repetitions of raising your hand up to your mouth, taking a puff and lowering your hand down again. That’s 200 repetitions every day. What else do you do 200 times a day? Nothing! Except breathing.
Do you think a habit might form if you did something 200 times every day? You bet it would!
And when you do this repeatedly in certain situations (as listed above) the habit gets linked to those situations. So whenever you find yourself in a situation where you regularly smoke, this automatic habit will take over and lead you to light up a cigarette.
So how do you get rid of the smoking habit?
Well firstly you need to know where your habits are located. Your habits are located in your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind is the part of your mind that you are aware of and that you use during the day to think with. Your subconscious mind is where all the things you have learnt are stored including your habits.
And your subconscious mind is much more powerful than your conscious mind. Your subconscious mind is what is in control of you most of the time. You’ve heard the saying “We’re creatures of habit”? Well, most of time we are simply acting out of habit and these habits come from our subconscious mind.
It is like when you drive somewhere and get to your destination and realise you don’t remember much of the drive. This is because, consciously you were thinking about other things and what took over driving the car was your subconscious mind because driving a car for you is a learned habit. You can think about other things with your conscious mind and your subconscious mind takes over driving the car from habit.
So in order to quit smoking you need to remove the habit of smoking in your subconscious mind.
That is why it often feels like there is an internal battle going on when you try to quit smoking using other methods. The ‘battle’ is between your conscious mind that you are trying to use to quit smoking (your ‘will power’) and your subconscious mind which is still in the habit of smoking!
And this is why the Quit Smoking in 60 minutes system works so well. It is solely focussed at removing your smoking habit at the subconscious level of your mind. This system goes right to the very cause of why you smoke.
How does the Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes system do this?
This system uses NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and Hypnosis processes to do this.
The system helps you remove any reasons and excuses you have of why you believe you can’t quit smoking. It also removes your desire for smoking and your habit of smoking. You walk out of the session thinking, feeling and behaving as a non-smoker.
This is accomplished during the session through both specific conversation and then through the hypnosis process itself.
During the hypnosis process you will be guided into a very relaxed state of body and mind. This is a very pleasant and enjoyable state. In this relaxed state your mind functions slightly differently. The barrier between the conscious and subconscious minds is now not present. This means that we can now communicate directly with your subconscious mind and achieve the desired change at that level of the mind, which, as we have said, is where your habit of smoking is located.
This is achieved through both direct positive suggestions provided to the subconscious mind and through guided exercises.
The whole process is very easy and enjoyable. All you have to do is follow the directions given. Your part in the process is very easy to do.
Now to correct some common misconceptions some people have about hypnosis
- Hypnosis is not sleep - at all times you are awake and aware of what is happening.
- You will not feel anything unusual – you will simply feel very relaxed (which feels good!)
- You are in control – you cannot be made to do anything you don’t want to do. You can still think and you will remember what happens in the session afterwards.
- Your mind will only allow the changes to occur that you want to have happen.
"Hypnosis is not mind control. It's a naturally occurring state of concentration; It's actually a means of enhancing your control over both your mind and your body."
Dr. David Spiegel, Sanford University School of Medicine, September 2004
Can you be hypnotised?
There are only two types of people that can’t be hypnotised:
- People with a below average IQ where they can’t follow instructions; and
- People who do not want to be hypnotised or who do not want to quit smoking
So does it work?
Hypnosis was approved as a therapeutic practice by the American Medical Association in 1958 and by the British Medical Association in 1955. In Great Britain, hypnosis is part of the national health care system. The AMA (Australian Medical Association) has made several statements regarding hypnotherapy that include:
“We have seen the evolution of the acceptance of modalities such as acupuncture, hypnosis and meditation through clinical research …”
“Research indicates that many GPs in Australia have accepted therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic, hypnosis and meditation as potentially beneficial. Over 80% of the GPs surveyed had referred patients for a complementary therapy at least a few times a year”
New Scientist magazine reported research by scientists at Iowa University who analysed the results of 600 studies of nearly 72,000 people in Europe and the USA who had used different methods to quit smoking. They found that hypnosis is consistently the most successful way to become a non-smoker.
There have been many celebrities who have used hypnosis to quit smoking. Matt Damon quit smoking using hypnosis. He said afterwards: "It’s amazing I didn’t even want cigarettes any more" and told America on Jay Leno's show “I should have done it years ago. It's the greatest decision I've ever made.”
Ben Affleck smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for 20 years, until impending fatherhood prompted him to quit. Ben went to a hypnotherapist recommended by his friend, Matt Damon.
Drew Barrymore managed to kick a two to three pack a day habit that she'd had since her teens with the help of hypnosis.

Ellen DeGeneres spoke on her TV show about how she quit with hypnosis. Ellen was so grateful that she told him: "You’ve helped me tremendously and probably saved my life. Definitely changed my life."

One Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes client said:
“I had smoked for about 20 years and tried to quit with patches and drugs but these didn't work. I was a bit sceptical at first of being able to quit in 1 hour but decided to give it a try. The session was easy and actually enjoyable. It has been 12 months now and I have not smoked since and had no withdrawal or cravings. It has worked for me" - Brent H
So hypnosis works and the Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes system takes success rates to an even higher level with the combination of NLP and Advanced Hypnosis.

For most smokers, quitting smoking is just the beginning of a life of greater health, wealth, happiness and success
AND THE BIGGEST REASON TO QUIT SMOKING IN 60 MINUTES WITH US …
YOU BECOME A NON-SMOKER FOR LIFE, NOT A SMOKER THAT HAS STOPPED SMOKING
A smoker who has stopped smoking has to use their will power to continue to resist having a cigarette every time a craving arises. A Non-Smoker who has quit using Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes doesn’t want to have a cigarette.
Can you see the significant and major difference between these? The smoker who has stopped smoking is the person who still says how nice it would be to just have one cigarette. This may continue to occur years after their last cigarette! Every time a craving arises they have to use their will power to battle against the habit that is driving them to smoke. This is why many people who haven’t had a cigarette for months or years can all of a sudden in a moment of weakness resume smoking again.
This is a terrible and terrifying way to live - always having to battle against cravings that can arise in any moment and therefore live on a razors edge of losing this battle and finding yourself smoking all over again.
This is one of the most important and significant advantages of quitting the right way with us using the Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes system. Because smoking is driven by the habits of the subconscious mind, any method of quitting that does not change these automatic subconscious habits will mean that for many, staying smoke free can be a continual struggle and battle of will power. Hypnosis is specifically targeted at changing these subconscious habits and removing your desire to smoke which is why it is so effective and makes quitting smoking for life easy and lasting.
